Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) patient who is considered to have rectal cancer by preoperative clinical or pathological diaginosis; (2) patient whose age is equal or greater than 60(the chinese criterion of old people); (3) patient who agree the surgery and receive the research program.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) patient whose diagnosis is not confirmed by the postoperative pathology; (2) patient who has multi-cancer except rectal; (3) patient who are reluctant to the research program; (4) patients who dosen't receive the therapy of surgery; (5) patients whose surgical procedure needs permanent colostomy or just a exploratory laparotomy (6) patiens who needs an additional preventive colostomy; (7) patient who needs to expand incision due to the demands of operation in the minilaparotomy and just is reported as a special incident,not excluded and not change group.
