Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients aged from 18 to 90 with COPD at GOLD 3 and GOLD 4 stage

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presence of tracheostomy, mechanical ventilation, severe abnormalities of the sensory changes of chest radiography, severe cardiac arrhythmias or hemodynamic instability. The criteria for drop-out were: lack of informed consent, clinical worsening, and the occurrence of one or more of the exclusion criteria.
