1:Using information on CYP2C9 and VKORC1 genotypes, pharmacogenetic-based "predicted warfarin dose" beginning 3 days and then adjusted to INR until warfarin maintenance dose

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were selective mechanical prosthetic valve replacement operations, cardiac function NYHA class I-III, normal liver and kidney functions without a past history of liver or kidney disease, no inflammatory diseases that required therapy with steroids or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. All patients were over eighteen years of age.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded from this study on the basis of the following criteria: preoperative and postoperative tachyarrhythmia that required therapy with amiodarone; postoperative important organ dysfunction or failure; peri-operative intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) requirement; pregnant or fertile female; or any other medical condition that, in the opinion of the investigators, could make the patient inappropriate for this study.
