Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Liver cirrhosis; 2. Endoscopic evidence of variceal bleeding(>=5d); 3. Child-Pugh score: 7–13; 4. Portal vein thrombosis within vessel lumen >25%; 5. Agreed to participate in the trial, and assigned informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Younger than 18 years or older than 70 years; 2. Pregnant and breeding women; 3. Thrombosis was limited in the intrahepatic portal vein; 4. Portal cavernoma; 5. Isolated gastric varices or ectopic varices; 6. Previous endoscopic treatment, TIPS or shunt surgery; 7. Malignancy or other serious medical illness which may reduce the life expectancy; 8. Uncontrolled infection or sepsis; 9. Severe disorders of other vital organs, such as heart, lung, kidney; 10. Contraindications for endoscopic band ligation, propranolol or TIPS.
