Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. age equal to or above 18 years, equal or less than 75; 2. Gut Dysfunction score>9; 3. Balthazar CT score=Grade D or Grade E; 4. possibility of placing a catheter into the retroperitoneal space percutaneously; 5. written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. previous drainage or surgical necrosectomy for (suspected); infected pancreatic necrosis, including procedures performed in referring hospitals. ERCP with or without papillotomy is allowed; 2. previous exploratory laparotomy for acute abdomen and diagnosis of pancreatitis during laparotomy; 3. history of acute or chronic pancreatitis; 4. bleeding, or perforation of a visceral organ as indication for intervention; 5. malignancy; 6. pregnancy; 7. mental illness; 8. identification of patients > 7days after onset of symptoms; 9 bacteremia.
