Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criterion of predicted length of stay in general surgical ICU of at least 24 hours was based on previous studies’ findings of specific benefit of tight glucose control for those.Patients enrolled in this study had to be at least 18 years of age, to have a clear pathological diagnosis of malignant carcinoma at the lower part of stomach, to undergo the same operation of standard radical distal subtotal gastrectomy by the same surgeon.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included: 1 current enrollment in another research study; 2 pregnancy or nursing; 3 severe malnutrition (BMI30 kg/m2); 4 major organs failure such as liver failure, heart failure and pulmonary failure because patients can not affect surgery stress; 5 palliative resection or unresectable of gastric carcinoma; diabetes and other factors
