5 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. BTI with diagnosis based on Hb electrophoresis pattern; 2. Age > 5; 3. Not transfusion dependent with less than 4 times of transfusion in recent 1 year; 4. Hb < 10g/dL at baseline

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. ALT > 3 times of upper limit of normal; 2. Renal impairment with serum Cr above upper limit of normal; 3. Chronic hepatitis B and C infection; 4. Receiving other long term herbal medications.
