Interventions

Group A:In the VSS Group each vessel will be occluded by application of harmonic scalpel (Ethicon Harmonic Scalpel)

Group B:In the CTT group each vessel will be occluded by manual ligature (Vicryl? 3-0 or equivalent suture material) using the square-knot technique and divided with scissors after ligation

18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Thyroidectomy patients with normal function of liver, kidney, heart, and lung; 2. Informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Malignant disease or highly suspicion for malignancy; 2. Severe psychiatric or neurological disease; 3. Previous history of thyroid or neck surgery; 4. Participation in another intervention-trial; 5. Pregnancy.
