41 Years to 80 Years
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Including Criteria of Periodontitis: 1. Clinical diagnosis of moderate generalized chronic periodontitis (Armitage 1999); at least clinical attachment level (CAL)>=2mm for 4 sites; 2. The age of subjects were 41~80 years old; 3. At least presence of >16 teeth in mouth, excluding forth molars; 4. No previous periodontal systerm treatment, no scaling within previous one year; 5. No anti-inflammatory drugs within the previous 3 month; DM Including Criteria: 1. T2DM diagnostic criteria used were according to the American history of antibiotic therapy; 2. Type 2 diabetes, defined by fasting blood glucose levels of 126mg/dl; 3. No other signifcant systemic disease.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. The presence of systemic diseases that influence the course of periodontal disease ,T1DM and gestational diabetes mellitus; 2. Rheumatism;infectious pseudorheumatism and other autoimmune disease; 3. Chronic infective diseases: Hepatitis B, pneumonia, phthisis, osteomyelitis; 4. Pregnancy or intention to pregnant during the study period; 5. Taken antibiotics or hormone within 3 month; 6. Previous periodontal system treatment, including scaling and root planing within previous one year; 7. live in a community less than 5 years.
