Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for healthy participants: (1) University students (not majoring in medicine) aged between 21-28; (2) On a regular diet pattern and do not have a habit of drinking alcohol, tea and coffee and smoking; (3) With average body weight (BMI from 18.5 to 23.9); (4) Right handed; (5) Willing to sign up the informed concent. Inclusion criteria for stroke patients: (1) Diagnosed under the standard of ICD-9 434 and ICD-8 433; (2) Aged between 40-65; (3) Having ischemic stroke in the left basal ganglia that occurred more than a month ago but less than a year, significant right hemiplegia (the score of the muscle strength of the upper limb and the lower limb <=4); (4) With stable condition and receiving usual treatment (including antiplatelet medicine like aspirin and clopidogrel, and lipid-lowering drugs like statins et al.); (5) right handedness.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for healthy participants: (1)have a history of psychiatric or neurological disease; (2)have received acupuncture within recent three months; (3)have any kind of disease; (4)have a history of taking psychiatric medicine; (5)have metal substance implanted inside the body. Exclusion criteria for stroke patients: (1)in the acute stage of stroke or have a stroke history longer than a year; (2)received acupuncture within a month; (3)have severe heart, liver or kidney disease or any kind of tumor; (4)have severe aphasia or a history of any kind of psychiatric disease; (5)pregnant or during lactation; (6)have metal substance implanted inside the body; (7)have trouble in blood coagulation.
