Conditions

Newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes

Interventions

Group A:Acarbose: titrated from 50mg qd to 100mg tid, taken for 12 months. Anothore oral Antidiabetic agent can be added after 6 months therapy
Group B:Metformin: titrated from 500mg qd to 1500mg qd, taken for 12 months. Anothore oral Antidiabetic agent can be added after 6 months therapy.

30 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged from 30 to 70, both female and male 2, Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetics mellitus for less than 12 months prior to study entry; 2. hypoglycemic agents waive or having hypoglycemic agents for less than 1 month and having not used hypoglycemic agents for at least 3 months prior to entry; 3. Patients with HbA1c concentration from 7% to 10%; FBG <=11.1 mmol/L; 4. Patients not participating in other clinical trial 3 months before entry; 5. Patients with BMI from 19 to 30kg/m2; 6. Patients not with severe liver or heart or kidney disease; 7. Urine pregnancy test required for childbearing woman; 8. Written informed consent obtained before treatment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients are pregnant, or are expecting to conceive within the projected duration of the study, or are breast feeding; 2. Patients unwilling to cooperate; 3. Patients with abnormal hepatic function, kidney impaired, severe chronic gastrointestinal disease, severe heart disease and evident hematological diseases; 4. Patients with clinical signs of endocrine system diseases, as thyroid diseases and hypercortisolism; 5. Patients allergic to investigational drugs; 6. Patients with mental illness or substance abuse; 7. Patients with diabetes ketoacidosis or nonketotic hyperosmolar coma requiring insulin therapy.
