Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Signature of informed consent form; (2) Man or woman at a age of 18-65; (3) Participants must have pain extending in an area between the twelfth rib and buttock crease (this may or may not be accompanied by leg pain), pain of less than 12 weeks duration. Acute low back pain was exacerbated in particular postures (flexion, extension, lateral bending and rotation of the lumbar region, or any combination of these movements), pain intensity of 40 or more on a 100-mm visual analog scale; (4) No experience with treatment of wrist-ankle acupuncture and traditional Chinese acupuncture.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Acute low back pain caused by inflammatory, tumor, osteoporosis, arthritis deformans, bone fracture, and fever; (2) Acute low back pain referred from organ systems (such as the abdomen, the vascular system, or the genitourinary system) or a systemic illness; (3) Take analgesic during the past 4 hours or slow-release analgesic during the past 12 hours; (4) Patients with serious or critical illness; (5) Have an acupuncture syncope record; (6) Acupuncture location with infection, tumor or dermatogic disease; (7) Persons without the competence to finish the questionnaire; (8) Pregnant women; (9) Psychiatric patients.
