Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 18-75 yrs; 2. Symptoms of myocardial infarction present within 12 h; 3. ECG indicative of an acute STEMI: >=2 mm ST-segment elevation in 2 contiguous precordial leads or >=1 mm ST-segment elevation in 2 contiguous extremity leads or new left bundle branch block; 4. Expected time delay from first medical contact to PCI >=90 min; 5. Informed consent obtained for participation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. With contraindications for alteplase; 2. Cardiogenic shock or serious arrhythmias; 3. PCI within the previous 1 month; 4. Previous coronary-artery bypass surgery; 5. Time from consent to thrombolysis greater than 30 min; 6. Pregnant females; 7. Other diseases with life expectancy<=12 months 8. Psychiatric diseases, mental retardation, dementia, drug abuse, alcoholism, or conditions that can severely reduce compliance.
