Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Age under 3 or body weight below 15 kg with evidence of CHF or recurrent pneumonitis requiring early intervention; 2) Diagnosis of muscular VSD or muscular VSD associated with other congenital heart defects that require surgical repair; 3) Subaortic rim less than 2mm. Eligibility for enrollment requires fulfillment of any one of these criteria.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: prolapse of the aortic valve leaflet or cardiac arrhythmia.
