Budd-Chiarii Syndrome

Interventions

HV group:This group include the patients with HV occlusion, PTA or/and EMS were performed through femoral vein or femoral-cervical veins in various types of BCS.
IVC group:This group include the patients with IVC occlusion, The thrombolysis by the catheter were performed in patients with thrombosis
The membranous obstructive BCS patients were treated with PTA
PTA and EMS were performed in patients with segmental obstructive BCS or the restenosis after PTA.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All the patients with Budd-chiarii syndrome were treated in the Department of Gastroenterology, Surgical Department of Vascular, Shandong Provincial Hospital and the Shandong Institute of Medical Science from 1987 to 2007; 2. The patients had the BCS syndrome more than 6 months, and had been conformed by the imaging examination; 3. Patients signed the informed consent form before operation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma or other malignancy were excluded; 2. Patients with hepatic cirrihosis and hypertension not caused by BCS or other chronic liver diseases were excluded; 3. Patients with diseases which induced congestion of systemic circulation were excluded; 4. Patients with serious cardiac, cerebral and renal disease were excluded; 5. Patients in pregnancy or lactation were excluded.
