Acupuncture treatment:ARD treatment and concomitant ginger-partitioned moxibustion of the Zusanli acupoint.
ARD treatment:esomeprazole magnesium enteric-coated tablets ,celecoxib capsules and methotrexate tablets
Combined therapy:ARD treatment and concomitant ginger-partitioned moxibustion of the Zusanli acupoint + oral Shanhuang Wuji decoction

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were as follows: patients with active RA and a TCM syndrome differentiation of arthralgia (aggravated arthralgia with a concomitant syndrome of dampness and heat blocking collaterals); age 45-65 years; a diagnosis of complicating peptic ulcer confirmed by endoscopy; no previous medication with any TCM or Western medicine drugs for the treatment of RA and peptic ulcer; and written, informed consent given prior to enrolment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded from this study for any of the following reasons: age 65 years; pregnant or lactating, if applicable; known to be allergic to any test medication; complicating Helicobacter pylori infection, GI cancer or GI bleeding; other autoimmune disorders; serious concomitant cardiac, cerebral, hepatic, renal, hematological or endocrine disorders; impaired consciousness or psychiatric disorders; participation in any other clinical studies within the previous three months; or other reasons at the discretion of investigators.
