Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: male patients, aged from 18 to 65 years old, ASA physical status I or II, scheduled for elective oesophagectomy due to esophageal cancer, were enrolled into the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were neurologic disease, spinal disease or spine malformation, back pain, renal or liver disease, history of spine surgery, partial pressure of oxygen in artery(PaO2)=45mmHg.
