Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All subjects were from Nanchong, Sichuan province, P. R. China, and without a history of prior myocardial infarction or revascularization. The participants were consenting individuals undergoing coronary angiography at the Central Hospital of Nanchong in 2011–2014, and were at least 18 years of age. The indications for angiography included exercise-induced chest pain and atypical chest pain. Coronary angiograms were obtained by standard techniques, and multiple views were recorded. The angiograms were defined with respect to the number of vessels involved (0, 1, 2, or 3). According to the diagnostic criteria issued by the World Health Organization, in which at least one coronary stenosis = 50% should be present for CHD, a total of 229 patients were eligible. Those with a maximum stenosis of <10% in any artery were defined as control group.
