18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients who were diagnosised as the active moderate-severe GO based on the EUGOGO -ATA diagnostic criteria; 2. aged between 18-65 years; 3. the GO duration was shorter than 18 months; 4. thyroid function was under control (defined by normal free thyroid hormone levels); 5. signed the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. sight threatening GO; 2. patients with optic atrophycataracts or retinopathy; 3. received intravenous glucocorticoids treatment within 12 months; 4. received oral glucocorticoid treatment within 6 months (an oral daily dose of prednisone above 40 mg for more than 3 months); 5. received retroocular radiotherapy within 12 months; 6. glaucoma; 7. pregnancy or lactating women; 8. abnormal liver function (transaminases exceeding 2 times the upper limit of the normal range) or abnormal renal function (serum creatinine above 136umol/L); 9. history of peptic ulcer; 10. history of heart failure, coronary heart disease, stroke; 11. diabetes with poor control of blood glucose, HbA1c>8%; 12. osteoporosis; 13. active infection (especially tuberculosis); 14. malignant tumor; 15. reluctant to sign the informed consent or unable to complete the entire course of treatment.
