Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: This study consists of a series of data analyses based on previous study (China Health and Nutrition Survey, CHNS). This study contains several parts of study contents based on different chronic diseases and related indicators. Participants in each part of the study will be selected according to the specific inclusion and exclusion criteria from the existing database. The analyses of this study included two major types of research designs, namely, repeated measurement analyses and prospective cohort analyses. For repeated measurement analyses, the inclusion criteria are: include adults aged 18 years of age and older, who participated at least one survey of CHNS during 1989 to 2011, not in pregnancy, breastfeeding, or physical disabled, and had complete baseline information of key covariates, and at least one complete record of dietary data within the normal range, and the related indicators (corresponding to BMI and blood pressure in studies 1 and 2, respectively) were incompletely missing. For the cohort analyses, the inclusion criteria are as follows: for example, in the case of study 4, include adults aged 18 years of age and older, who participated at least one survey of CHNS during 1989 to 2011, not in pregnancy, breastfeeding, or physical disabled, and had complete baseline information of key covariates, and were not diagnosed as diabetes or any other chronic disease at baseline, and had at least one follow up after the baseline, and at least one complete record of dietary data within the normal range before the outcome confirmation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: This study consists of a series of data analyses based on previous study (China Health and Nutrition Survey, CHNS). For repeated measurement analyses, the exclusion criteria are: exclude participants who were younger than 18 years of age, in pregnancy, breastfeeding, physical disabled or lack of baseline information of key covariates, and whose dietary data or related indicator information were missing or abnormal. For the cohort analyses, the exclusion criteria are: exclude participants who were younger than 18 years of age, in pregnancy, breastfeeding, physical disabled or lack of baseline information of key covariates; remove those with incomplete information of the chronic disease to be studied (in the case of research 4, here refers to diabetes); remove those enter the CHNS in 2011 for the first time or loss to follow up after baseline; remove those diagnosed with diabetes or any other chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, stroke, myocardial infarction or tumor; further remove those whose dietary data before the outcome confirmation were missing or abnormal.
