Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 18 years; 2. Patient with T1DM or T2DM; 3. Patient with mild/moderate NPDR.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient with severe NPDR, PDR, or diabetic macular edema (DME); 2. DR with severe vitreous hemorrhage; 3. Patient with other ophthalmic diseases which may interfere fundus examination; 4. Patient who received eye surgery (cataract surgery not included) or ophthalmic treatment within 6 monthsbefore this screening; 5. Patient with acute kidney injury; 6. Patient with severe cardio- or cerebro-vascular disease, liver / kidney disease, or immune system disease, etc; 7. Woman of gestation, lactation, and pre-gestation period; 8. Patient who is not willing to sign the informed consent; 9. Patient who is unable to finish 3-year follow-up; 10. Patient with advanced cancer(s) or with life expectancy less than 1 year.
