Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients group: 1. Participants aged >55 years who had been diagnosed with severe depression; 2. with ECT indications; Control group: 1. Aged >55y; 2. healthy adults.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. who underwent ECT during past the 6 months and exhibiting brain pathology, other comorbid mental disorders; 2. a history of stroke or MRI-related contraindications.
