Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Early-phase AMD criteria includes: soft drusen (> 125 µm diameter), pigment changes, or drusenoid pigment epithelial detachment in the absence of any feature of advanced AMD (wet or dry). Control participants exhibited no features associated with AMD, with any drusen present being less than 125 µm in diameter (hard drusen) [5]. Classification process was carried out by 2 independent specialists.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria includes: advanced AMD(wet or dry); high myopia(refractive error larger than ±6 diopters);retinal detachment and other secondary or complicated fundus diseases; signi?cant cataract (Lens Opacities Classi?cation System III grade 4 or more [6]); history of intraocular injection, laser or surgical procedure.
