Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: From June 2011 to June 2012, 30 IE patients(study group) received "resection of epileptic foci" in department of Neurosurgery, Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital and postoperative follow-up was performed. Brain tissue from 10 deceased without any brain disease were used as control. Immunofluorescence Double Staining Method was performed to detect OL differentiation markers of the two groups, including A2B5, platelet-derived growth factor receptor alph (PDGFR alpha), O4 and myelin basic protein (MBP). Luxol fast blue (LFB) staining was performed to observe demyelination of epileptic foci. Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR and western blot were applied to detected myelin-associated proteins, including MBP, Oligodendrocytes myelin glycoprotein (OMgp), myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG), and Nogo receptors (NgRs) and GD1 alpha related to MAG.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Brain tissues from 10 deceased without any neurological diseases, clearly no family history of epilepsy and aged from 20 to 42 years old, were provided by Medical Identification Center of Guiyang Medical Institute.
