Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: male or female patients, heart rates within 55 ~ 90 beats/min, systolic blood pressure (SBP) >=140 mmHg and /or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) >=90 mmHg were included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with secondary hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes, obesity (BMI>30kg/m2), stroke, renal or liver dysfunction, malignant tumor or pregnancy women and those whose blood pressure measurements above 180/110 mmHg or remaining lower than 140/90 mmHg during the wash-out period, were withdrawn from the study.
