Group A:Extent of occlusion of the coronary vessels more than 70%. No intervention.
Group C:Extent of occlusion of the coronary vessels more than 50%. No intervention.
Group B:Extent of occlusion of the coronary vessels between 70%-50%

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: At angiography, the extent of occlusion of the coronary vessels was determined using standard catheterization techniques. Nurse to select potential cases and coronary referents. Those persons with 90% occlusion in one artery and at least 40% occlusion in another were defined as cases of severe atherosclerosis. Coronary referents could have no more than 50% occlusion in one coronary artery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Excluding criteria for all study participants required that they had no history of diabetes, renal, hepatic or gastrointestinal disease, cancer, alcohol or drug abuse, or psychiatric illness
