Inclusion criteria: A total of 100 patients were enrolled in this study, including a total of 50 patients enrolled in Michigan Medical College, 50 patients with bone tumor and blood in Peking University People's Hospital. Peking University People's Hospital patients must meet the following conditions: 1. patients diagnosed with multiple myeloma have clinical symptoms and meet at least one of the following: (1) serum protein electrophoresis (protein electrophoresis, SPEP), the serum monoclonal protein (monoclonal protein protein, M) = 0.5 g/dL; (2) (Urine M-protein, M urinary protein UPEP) = 200 mg/24 hrs. (3) Light chain in serum free (serum free light chain, FLC): FLC level greater than or equal to 10 (100 mg/dL mg/L), the proportion of abnormal serum FLC 2. patients without contraindications for intravenous injection of MRI agents; 3. older than 18 years old; 4. patients who can undergo MRI examination without anesthesia; 5. patients who can provide informed consent; 6. there was no sex restriction in this study because of gender had no significant effect on prognosis and MRI examination.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. disease related: (1) plasma cell leukemia; (2) smoking myeloma (asymptomatic myeloma); (3) nonsecretory myeloma; (4) Waldenstrom's disease with giant lymph globulin / lymphoid cell lymphoma; (5) POEMS syndrome (peripheral polyneuropathy, hepatosplenomegaly, endocrine disorders, M protein increased and skin pigmentation); (6) active central nervous system involvement caused by MM. 2. patient related: (1) received chemotherapy, immunomodulatory therapy or proteasome inhibitors within 3 weeks, or received systemic corticosteroid therapy within 2 weeks (prednisone > 10 mg/day); (2) spinal radiation was performed within 21 days. However, if radiotherapy was limited to a single lesion, accounting for less than 5% of the bone marrow (estimated by the experimenter), the subjects could ignore the time of the last radiotherapy and were enrolled in the trial; (3) spinal lesions received or will undergo surgical treatment. To accept or will receive percutaneous vertebroplasty, fixation with or less than 3 of the posterior vertebral surgery, has little effect on MRI imaging, the experimenter assessment into the test group; (4) claustrophobic patients; (5) in pregnancy or lactation.
