Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Consecutive children aged between 4-16 years who presented for planned admission for elective noncardiac surgery at First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Gansu, China, between January 2013 and June 2013 were enrolled in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) central nervous disease; (2) congenital disease; (3) ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder); (4) severe visual or auditory disorders. (5) Children unwillingness to comply with the study protocol or procedure.
