Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The acute kidney injury was diagnosed according to the criteria of the Risk, Injury, Failure, Loss, and End-stage Kidney (RIFLE) classification which were formulated by the Acute Dialysis Quality Initiative (ADQI). The acute kidney injury was induced by sepsis. The plasma was collected when the serum creatinine of these patients with septic acute kidney injury varied from 2.0 mg/dl to 2.6 mg/dl.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included as follow: patients with chronic renal diseases; patients receiving corticosteroids in the past and patients with chronic liver diseases, diabetes, cancer and a long history of hypertension.
