Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This study was carried out over a period of 5 years between June 2008 and June 2013 in the Department of Orthopedics, Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. 284 patients with patella fractures, of these, 197 were transverse patella fracture.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: In this 118 type C1 patella fractures, patients with open fractures, multiple fractures, presentation 5 days after the initial trauma, type C1.2 and C1.3 fractures and cases transverse patellar fractures with displacement greater than 8 mm were excluded from the study.
