30 Years to 68 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) be a resident of the Shenzhen metropolitan area; (2) be sedentary as defined as engaging in less than a total a 150 minutes of MOD+ physical activity per week; (3) be 30 years of age or older (as PA patterns of individuals under 30 are different from those of the rest of the adult population); (4) understand written and spoken Chinese Mandarin (the national language in mainland China); (5) have regular access to a telephone, whether that be a mobile (cell) or a land line phone, and (6) be able to use a telephone unassisted

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) severe psychiatric or cognitive disabilities; (2) have any medical condition, as suggested by a physician, that precludes them from engaging in at least moderate intensity PA or from participating in the study for other reasons, and (3) are currently engaged in a physical activity promotion program.
