Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients with first-ever acute ischemic stroke were included. Consent should be obtained from the patient if possible, otherwise from their representatives.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Admission to the hospital more than 24h after symptom onset; 2) No fresh lesions on neuroimaging; 3) Previous history of thyroid disorder; 4) Primary cancer; 5) Severe cardiopulmonary disease.
