Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with COPD-according to the Global initiative for chronic Obstructive Lung Disease(GOLD) spirometry defination; 2. Patients with AECOPD which is defined as an acute event characterized by a worsening of the patients respiratory symptoms that is beyond normal day-to-day variations andleads to a change in medication.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria include patients who had comorbidities of pulmonary embolism, congestive heart failure, pneumothorax or pleurisy, asthma, bronchiectasis, heart failure,thromboembolic disease, or restrictive respiratory insufficiency. When any of these diagnoses appeared on the discharge diagnosis of the medical charts, the subject was excluded.
