18 Years to 45 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. age from 18 to 45 years old; 2. Diagnozed with treatment resistant depression: (1) The diagnosis was confirmed by clinical interview, Structured Clinical Interview of DSM-IV; (2) Treatment resistance was defined as a current or past history of lack of response to two adequate antidepressant trials;c.current HAMD-17 score >=20.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. combined with serious medical illness: cardiovascular disease, intracranial hypertension,respiratory diseases or severe fracture; 2. combined with hypertension, glaucoma,aneurysm or cerebral vascular malformation; 3. with metallic foreign bodies: pacemaker,electrode in brain; 4. a history of epilepsy; 5. a history of alcohol or substance abuse/dependence; 6. a history of sensitivity to the anesthetic; 7. combine with other mental illness: dementia or schizophrenia; 8. pregnant; 9. doctor considered that MECT was unsuitable for that patient.
