Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged>18 years old; 2. Patients with severe sepsis or sepsis shock; 3. Hyperlactatemia (blood lactate=4mmol/L).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnancy; 2. Patients with systemic immune diseases or advanced malignancies; 3. Acute coronary syndrome or acute cerebrovascular accident; 4. Patients already show clinic symptoms of liquid high load; 5. Patients need emergency surgery; 6. Patients whose sublingual veins can not be observed because of the oral or extraneous factors; 7. Contraindication of central venous catheter or blood transfusion; 8. Patients die less than 24h from enrolling in grouph.
