Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Collecting the serum specimen of the patients diagnosed with hand-foot-and-mouth disease including all clinical stages in our out-patient and in-patient departments. The diagnostic criteria of the hand-foot-and-mouth disease are derived from the clinical practice guideline revised by the national ministry of health in 2010. Clinical stages are identified by the Clinical Expert Consensus Documents for the severe cases infected with enterovirus 71 (EV71). The serum specimen of patients without hand-foot-and-mouth disease and cardiopulmonary insufficiency should also be collected as control group.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The patients with cardiopulmonary insufficiency caused by sepsis, toxication, tumour, severe trauma, operation and other conditions.
