Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. with more than 6-month history of unilateral LRP; 2. with >=5 scores tested by 0-10 VAS instrument; 3. Age over 70 years; 4. Lack of satisfactory improvement with oral pharmacotherapy, physical therapy and epidural corticosteroid injection; 5. Refuse or intolerance to open surgical intervention; 6. Magnetic resonance imaging evidence of nerve root involvement; 7. Absence of neurologic deficits.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Low back pain more severe than a radicular component; 2. Evidence of significant neurologic deficits, such as progressive motor deficit, dense sensory deficit; 3. Refuse to participate in the study; 4. Bilateral radiculopathy or spinal stenosis at more than 3 levels; 5. Previous spine surgery; 6. Allergy to local anesthetics or contrast medium; 7. Significant anatomic deformity or uncontrolled psychiatric disorders; 8. Coagulopathy; 9. A history of opioid use; 10. Inability to finish the self-evaluation questionnaires (VAS, ODI).
