Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Diabetes were diagnosed in accordance with criteria as following: fasting glucose level = 7.0 mmol/L or 2-h postprandial plasma glucose level = 11.1 mmol/L
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Participants who with a history of established cardiovascular disease (patients at least 40 years old and had a history of a clinical event associated with atherosclerosis involving coronary, cerebrovascular or peripheral vascular system) or abnormal function of kidney or liver were excluded.
