45 Years to 85 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: mild to moderate lateral recess or foramina stenosis induced by thickening ligamentum flavum, combined with image-confirmed segmental instability (Posner criteria) or spondylolisthesis (Meyerding Grade I) but without obvious facet hypertrophy (Fujiwara Grade I or Grade II). Their mechanical back pain and neurological symptom could not be relieved by conservative medications for at least six weeks

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: obvious central canal stenosis, congenital canal stenosis, locked facets, spondylolisthesis (Meyerding Grade II or more), moderate to severe scoliosis, mere segmental canal stenosis without radiographic evidence of instability or spondylolisthesis
