Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. adult patients above 18 years of age who received catheter infusion; 2. patients who were expected to use the indwelling catheter for at least 3 days; 3. patients who used PVCs for the first time during hospitalization; 4. patients who agreed to participate in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. patients with bloodstream infections or under immunosuppressive therapy; 2. patients receiving parenteral nutrition infusion through PVC; 3. patients with indwelling catheters for more than 72 h.
