Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria included patients who has lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and obstruction due to BPH and requires indications for the surgical treatment of BPH.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with renal function impairment (blood creatinine >145 umol/L); patients with impaired cardiopulmonary function; patients with an alteration of coagulation parameters [international normalised ratio (INR) >1.3] or any kind of bleeding disorders; patients that, in the past, had already undergone any kind of prostate surgery; patients that had already assumed a different scheme, period or dosage of any kind of 5-ARI; refusal to sign the informed consent.
