Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The participants (age 7-16 years) presented with a body mass index (BMI) above the 95th percentile of the BMI chart for age- and sex-specific normal Taiwanese children

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children with primary hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, impaired fasting glucose, impaired glucose tolerance, syndromic or endocrine obesity, or those undergoing pharmacological treatment were excluded.
