Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All of the HD patients were older than 18, and were receiving conventional hemodialysis treatments 3 times per week at least for 6 months and were clinically stable for at least 1 month prior to the baseline assessment (i.e. they exhibited no symptoms of acute coronary events, acute infectious or noninfectious inflammatory disease, or blood transfusion). None of patients had histories of autoimmune disease, neoplasms, or hepatic disease. All subjects provided informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age less than 18; Time on dialysis no more than 6 months; Had histories of autoimmune disease, neoplasms,or hepatic disease; Exhibited symptoms of acute coronary events, acute infectiousor noninfectious inflammatory disease, or blood transfusion.
