Age
18 Years to 34 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The three criteria are 1) oligo- and/or anovulation; 2) clinical and/or biochemical signs of hyperandrogenism, and 3) ultrasound appearance of polycystic ovaries with the exclusion of other known causes of hyperandrogenemia and ovulatory dysfunction including 21-hydroxylase deficiency, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Cushing’s syndrome, and rogensecreting tumors, thyroid disease, and hyperprolactinemia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for both groups included age older than 35 years, body mass index (BMI) more than 35 kg/m2, known cardiovascular disease, thyroid disease, neoplasms, smoking, diabetes, hypertension, and renal impairment (serum creatinine 120 µmol/l).
