Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults age 18-65 years old, male/female, BMI ?23 kg/m2, meeting the overweight/obese criteria in WHO Asia Pacific Region. Patients were without chronic diseases, or with chronic diseases that had no impact on recent food intake or body weight (such as dyslipidaemia, hypertension and diabetes in good glycaemic control).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant or lactating women; patients with eating disorder (anorexia/bulimia), renal failure, cancer, hospitalization/major illness during study period; inability to complete questionnaires at end of the study period or inability to give consent, were excluded.
