Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All subjects agreed to participate and signed informed consent; 2. The subjects had a doctor's diagnosis of asthma according to GINA(2008); 3. The duration of asthma is at least three months; 4. The cutoff of eosinophils in sputum is 1% and 65% in the neutrophils. The neutrophils and eosinophils both increased in the mixed cell group. The eosinophilic group with a normal sputum neutrophil cout has higher eosinophil in sputum than the normal range, but the neutrophilic group has a normal eosinophil sputum cout and a higer sputum neutrophil cout; 5. The asthmatics are uncontrolled according to asthma control tests; 6. All patients have been treated with Salmeterol fluticasone(50/250ug) for two months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. In the first four weeks,Patients had a history of respiratory tract infections or used inhaled corticosteroid regularly or received high-dose systemic steroid therapy; 2. Patients had serious complications,such as dysfunction of heart, liver and kidney,tumors and so on; 3. Patients will not be fit for follow-up.
