Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Acute pancreatitis was defined by the presence of typical abdominal pain associated with serum amylase levels > 3 times normal value. The diagnosis of SAP was made in accordance with the Atlanta classification

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were age below 18 years and pregnancy.
