Age
41 Years to 69 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients office-based systolic blood pressure of 160mmHg or more, despite being treated with at least 3 anti-hypertensive drugs (including on diuretic); 2. Patients must be at least 18 years of age.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients not able to give informed consent; 2. Patients with known secondary causes of hypertension; 3. Patients with renovascular abnormalities (including severe renal artery stenosis, previous renal angioplasty or stenting, or known dual renal arteries); 4. Patients who are pregnant; 5. Patients had a glomerular filtration rate (estimated with the modification of diet in renal disease formula) <45ml/min/1.73m2; 6. Patients with type I diabetes mellitus; 7. Patients with haemodynamically significant valvular heart disease, implanted pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defribillators.
