18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA I or II, between 18 to 65 years of age,no contraindications to epidural anesthesia or dexmedetomidine infusionsubmitted to epidural anesthesia undergoing sedation with dexmedetomidine for lower abdominal, anorectal, or extremity (surgeryoperation time >70min) unrelated Han Chinese patients.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of hypertension; Obesity with a body mass index > 30 kg/m2; Clinically significant renal, hepatic diseases; History of drug or alcohol abuse; Pregnancy or breast-feeding; Recent (within last 30 days) treatment with a2-AR agonist or taken any drug acting on the central nervous system within 24 h.
