Interventions

two groups:Minimum: 1 Course, twice a week for 4 weeks Maximum: 2 courses priors to give birth. Acupuncture vs. gestational-age matched control with no intervention.

18 Years to 50 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant for 16 to 34 weeks, suffering from pelvic/low-back pain VAS= 4/10; 2. Single foetus with no abnormality; 3. Healthy without serious medical condition; 4. Capable of filling up self-report; 5. Consent for the trial.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Back pain before pregnancy; 2. Preexisting rheumatological conditions; 3. Sciatica; 4. Psychiatric problems; 5. Those maintained on analgesic medication; 6. Other pain conditions, systemic disorders, coagulation disturbances, and infection risk.
